SÄKAPHEN Heat Cured Epoxy-Phenolics
Heat Cured Epoxy-Phenolic Linings and Coatings resistant to Alkali Media and a Full Range of Cooling Waters
SÄKAPHEN's range of heat cured single-component epoxy-phenolic linings and coatings have been specifically formulated for chemical resistance against aggressive alkaline media in forms of liquids, mist (also in droplets), fumes, steam and gases and all types of cooling water including brackish, river and sea water, conditioned circular cooling water and deionized water. This can further include chemically and mechanically resistance against saturated salt solutions and slurries, depending on the specific type of lining. In addition, the linings can withstand a multitude of greases, fats and oils.
Upon polymerization, the thermosetting heat cured epoxy-phenolic lining or coating forms a hard elastic lining film with hydrophobic properties, offering tremendous corrosion protection alongside preventing any caking, fouling and incrustation.
All of the SÄKAPHEN heat cured range of products are self-priming and developed for direct to metal application and once polymerized are fully machinable. The level of formaldehyde in all SÄKAPHEN heat cured epoxy-phenolic linings and coatings is less than 0.1%.
Depending on the product type, the polymerized heat cured epoxy-phenolic linings and coatings are characterized by their resistance to water vapor diffusion, caused by cold wall effect (ΔT 85°C). The enhanced and advanced heat conductivity has been third party tested and confirmed by 3M.
The varying linings and coatings can be applied to a wide range of metallic substrates extending from carbon steels to exotic alloys and numerous types of equipment; from static equipment such as Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers, Air Coolers, Condensers, Pipes and Spools, Vessels and Tanks to rotating equipment such as Turbines and Impellers in corrosive and highly aggressive alkaline environments. Furthermore, the linings are resistant to temperature fluctuations.
