SÄKAPHEN's plural-component Novolac Vinyl Ester range has been formulated and designed to provide chemical resistance against both aggressive acidic and alkali media including various hydrocarbons, flue gases as found in flue gas desulfurization and all types of cooling water including brackish, river, sea water, deionized and conditioned circular cooling water. Additionally the linings withstand inorganic salt solutions, fuels and other mixed corrosive solutions.
After polymerization, the Novolac Vinyl Ester forms a hard elastic surface film which offers exceptional corrosion protection and dependent on the product selected further offers electrical conductivity and resistance to water vapor diffusion caused by cold wall effect (ΔT 85°C). Furthermore, the SÄKAPHEN Novolac Vinyl Esters can be used in the storage and transportation of flammable liquids and substances hazardous to water and have a smooth hydrophobic like finish limiting incrustation and fouling.
Additionally, the SÄKAPHEN Novolac Vinyl Ester range can be further characterized by the enhanced abrasion and impact resistance due to the use of graphite and glass flake fillers and once polymerized is fully machinable. The Novolac Vinyl Ester based coatings and linings are resistant to temperature fluctuations.
All the SÄKAPHEN Novolac Vinyl Ester range are low-solvent containing ultra-high solid products, with a volume of solid (wt.%) of plus 95%.
All SÄKAPHEN's Novolac Vinyl Ester range can be applied on site by SÄKAPHEN located in Gladbeck, Germany and our international network of authorized applicators and if required can be site applied by suitably qualified and assessed third party applicators if contracted to local petrochemical facilities.
Fields of application: The various linings and coatings can be applied to an array of substrates, from carbon steels, exotic alloys, and concrete and applied to varying types of plant and equipment including Vessels, Tanks, Solos, Pipes and Spools, Channels, Covers, Water Boxes and also to rotating equipment encompassing Turbines and Impellers situated in corrosive aggressive environments.
