SÄKAPHEN Heat Cured Phenolics
Heat Cured Phenolic Linings and Coatings Resistant to Acidic Media and Hydrocarbons
SÄKAPHEN’s range of heat cured single-component phenolic linings and coatings have been specifically formulated for chemical resistance against aggressive acidic mediums and corrosive hydrocarbons, such as organic and inorganic acids, salt solutions, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons including chlorinated hydrocarbons, alcohols, flammable liquids and other media, for example cooling water including brackish, river and sea water, as well as deionized water.
When polymerized, the thermosetting heat cured baked phenolic linings and coatings form a hard elastic lining film with hydrophobic properties, offering first-class corrosion protection, preventing caking, fouling and incrustation. All the SÄKAPHEN heat cured range of products are self-priming, formulated for direct to metal application and once polymerized are fully machinable.
Depending on the product type, the polymerized heat cured phenolic linings and coatings are characterized by their resistance to water vapor diffusion (ΔT 85°C).
Furthermore, SÄKAPHEN’s heat cured phenolic linings and coatings can be used for storing and transporting flammable liquids, substances hazardous to water and due to the unique blends of ceramic fillers, offer enhanced abrasion resistance.
Additionally, heat cured phenolic linings and coatings are permitted for direct contact with foodstuffs (following German and European Guidelines) and approved by the Bureau Veritas, in regards to their use in ISO Tank Containers.
The numerous linings and coatings can be applied to a wide range of metallic substrates extending from carbon steels through to exotic alloys and varying types of equipment; static equipment such as Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers, Pipes and Spools, Vessels and Tanks as well as Rotating Equipment such as Turbines and Impellers in corrosive and highly aggressive, acidic environments. The linings and coatings are also resistant to temperature fluctuations.
