SÄKAPHEN’s box cooler re-lining solutions in the Corrosion Protection magazine
SÄKATONIT Extra AR-F
The international Corrosion Protection magazine featured SÄKAPHEN in one of its cover stories.
In our article published in the magazine’s October 2024 issue, we presented our proven range of protective coating and process solutions for the maritime industry, with a particular focus on box coolers.
SÄKAPHEN recently participated in SMM, the leading international maritime trade fair held in Hamburg (Germany) every other year, with its partners Multi Solutions and NGP. While exhibiting there, we noted increasing interest in the cleaning and re-coating of box coolers as a sustainable way to lengthen these systems’ service life—the expected life cycle of a box cooler is usually 15 years.
As for coating and lining products, SÄKAPHEN developed a special cold-cured epoxy hybrid floodable coating, Säkatonit Extra AR-F, to protect box coolers, extending their service life and enhancing sustainability. It is designed to withstand harsh marine environments, resist fouling and reduce marine growth without using biocides, aligning with green shipping goals.
Process-wise, SÄKAPHEN’s network of global partners ensures efficient services including inspection, cleaning and re-coating of box coolers at customer sites worldwide. Our collaboration with global companies allows us to cater to clients in regions from Scandinavia to the Middle East.
Finally, we presented a notable success case involving the re-coating of 31 box coolers, where Säkatonit Extra AR-F performed excellently even under challenging environmental conditions.
