SAEKA Cleaning System
Our cleaning paste developed for high-voltage insulators and heavy industry applications is so safe and easy to use that we employ it in our own houses–sometimes even on very unexpected surfaces. An example? A knight’s helm!
In a past blog post, we described extensively the characteristics of our SÄKAPHEN’S cleaning system: two cleaning pastes and a silicon grease for excellent results in the most diverse industries, from high-voltage insulators and electrostatic precipitators to railway equipment and industrial machinery.
We also mentioned that our cleaning pastes can easily find application even in the light manufacturing field and the private sector, with endless uses on chrome, stainless steel, alloys, plastics and other surfaces.
A family saga
Recently, we were delighted to see one of these cleaning pastes used for something truly special for our family.
In the words of our Commercial Director Christoph Fischer-Zernin, from SÄKAPHEN’S owning family third generation: “When he was around 70 years old, I remember my grandfather insisting on having a knight’s armour in his house. He finally got one and put it in his entrance hall. My nephew also fell in love with it. Every time he visited my grandparents’ home, he asked for it.
When my grandmother passed some time ago, the family decided he would get the armour for his own house. However, my sister, his mum, couldn’t avoid noticing that it could definitely use some extra polishing. So, of course, she grabbed our green paste and did a wonderful job!”

SAEKA Cleaning Paste 80.750
The product used for this DIY activity was the SAEKA Cleaning Paste 80.750. Formulated and designed for protecting high voltage insulators against electrical flash-overs caused by dust and moisture, it forms a hydrophobic layer to seal their surfaces. Maintenance cycles are thus extended and costly downtimes are significantly reduced. More generally, this product is suitable for cleaning and sealing heavily soiled, smooth and scratch-resistant surfaces in one cleaning pass.
The SAEKA Cleaning Paste 80.750 is solvent-free, dermatologically tested and contains physiologically safe abrasives, oils and greases. It is non-hazardous, so no special or extensive Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is needed during the application process.
Finally, it is very easy to use: wipe on, wipe off and polish – done!
